Effective August 15, 2007, claims submitted without the Request Tracking Number [RTN] will reject with Error Code R09 – Prior Approval Required. First Transit’s call center and passPORT have been fully operational since July 30, 2007. In addition, prior approval letters have been mailed for all trips processed through August 2, 2007.
Claims that reject with an R09 error code must be rebilled to HFS with the appropriate RTN. The RTN can be obtained by using passPORT or by calling First Transit at 1-877-725-0569.
