Illinois Cares Rx IMPORTANT Information

The Illinois Cares Rx program recently began a new benefit year January 1, 2007. Some Illinois Cares Rx members failed to reapply for the program prior to January 1, 2007. As a result some members will experience a break in Illinois Cares Rx coverage until they reapply and are determined eligible.

If the member who has Medicare failed to reapply for Illinois Cares Rx, the member will not receive Illinois Cares Rx wrap benefits through the Medicare Part D plan until their eligibility for Illinois Cares Rx is re-established. Unless the member made a change during the Medicare Part D open enrollment period, the member should still be enrolled in the Medicare Part D plan and should have drug coverage through this plan.

 

Members who do not have Medicare and were receiving prescription benefits directly from the Illinois Cares Rx program who failed to reapply will not have access to prescription coverage until their Illinois Cares Rx eligibility is re-established.

 

Members must reapply using the 2006 Form IL-1363. The form is available for download at www.cbrx.il.gov or www.illinoiscaresrx.com on the Internet. Members may apply using the paper form but paper applications take longer to process than applications submitted via the Internet.

 

The new 2006 application will be available for Internet filing at www.cbrx.il.gov or www.illinoiscaresrx.com on February 5, 2007.
