Billing for Psychiatric Services for Children and Adolescents Enrolled in the Screening, Assessment and Support Services (SASS) Program |
The purpose of this notice is to provide notification that the Department of Human Services (DHS) will pay for physician psychiatric services for children and adolescents enrolled in the SASS program who are not enrolled in Medicaid/All Kids for dates of service July 1, 2005, and after. This coverage will be limited to the procedure codes and place of service listed on the reverse side of this notice.
Physician psychiatric services for DHS funded children and adolescents enrolled in the SASS program must be billed fee-for-service to the Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS). The services will be billed on a DPA 2360 Health Insurance Claim form or on an 837P by the physician rendering the service. Community Mental Health providers cannot bill for these services.
The department will grant exceptions to the 12-month filing requirement through September 30, 2006 to allow providers time to submit claims and receive payment for these services. The department will accept claims past the 12-month filing requirement electronically or hard copy paper form. Claims past the 12-month filing requirement submitted on a paper claim form must be sent to the following address.
