​Provider Taxonomy Changes

Re:​ Provider Taxonomy Changes​

Effective June 1, 2006, transportation providers must use the following provider taxonomy codes for Medicar and Service Car.

 

  • Taxonomy Code 343800000X (Secured Medical Transport Van) will be used for Category of Service 52 (Medicar).

  • Taxonomy Code 343900000X (Non-Emergency Medical Transport Van) will be used for Category of Service 54 (Service Car).

Prior to June 1, 2006, you should continue to use provider taxonomy code 343900000X, when billing for transportation services rendered by a Medicar or a Service Car provider.
