Re: Medicare Part D Co-Pays for SLF and CILA Residents

The Department of Healthcare and Family Services will cover the Medicare Part D co-pays for dual eligible residents of SLF and CILA facilities in Illinois. HFS is developing programming in our pharmacy point-of-sale system to accept NCPDP 5.1 co-pay only billing for these beneficiaries. This programming will not be in place by January 1, 2006. Until the programming is in place, the department will set up a system to receive invoices from pharmacies for these co-pays on a periodic basis, along with the backup claims data needed.

 

We will work with pharmacy providers to develop the details of this interim system.
