MDS Based Reimbursement System - Time Frame for Transmittal of the MDS

​Re: ​MDS Based Reimbursement System - Time Frame for Transmittal of the MDS

Effective immediately, the Department is revising its requirement relating to the timeframe for electronic transmittal of the Minimum Data Set (MDS) to the State MDS database to 31 days. The Department's proposed and emergency rules at 89 Ill. Adm. Code 147.125(b)(2) required facilities to "Transmit electronically to the State MDS database the MDS for all assessments within seven days after the completion date of the assessment." While the change from seven days to 31 days will be made to the rule during the second notice phase of the rulemaking process, facilities are being instructed to make this change immediately.
