The purpose of this bulletin is to provide updated pages for the Handbook for Providers of Laboratory Services. The handbook updates contain new language regarding the Department's reimbursement for multiple pathology tests by physicians and hospitals billing fee-for-service.
The Department takes this opportunity to emphasize the importance of the language contained in Section L-210.12 of this handbook.
Effective for dates of service on or after March 1, 2003, physicians and hospitals billing fee-for-service will be allowed to use DPA 2360, Field 24f, Days/Units for billing multiple pathology tests.
Replacement pages for the Handbook for Providers of Laboratory Services are available on the Department's website at <http://www.dpaillinois.com/handbooks/chapter200.html >.
