 IM+CANS Provider Portal System Update

The Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS) has identified and corrected a system error within the Illinois Medicaid Comprehensive Assessment of Needs and Strengths Provider Portal (IM+CANS Portal). The edit was preventing a provider from updating a customer’s current IM+CANS that had been uploaded to the IM+CANS Portal by a different agency. 

Effective immediately, providers will be able to access and update a customer’s current IM+CANS within the IM+CANS Portal by completing and submitting an IM+CANS Authorization for Disclosing or Obtaining Information form.    

Once the form is complete, providers must upload it to the Portal’s IM+CANS Consent Requests page by selecting “Add Consent” or by sending the completed form as an attachment via encrypted email to the Office of Medicaid and Innovations’ IM+CANS Account Assistance inbox omi.cansaccount@uillinois.edu for processing.

Providers will receive an email notification once the request has been approved, allowing them the ability to access and update the customer’s current IM+CANS.
