New Mandatory Training for Mobile Crisis Response Providers |
The Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS), in partnership with the Provider Assistance and Training Hub (PATH), is excited to announce a new crisis services course offering: Recognizing and Responding to Human Trafficking. This course is specifically designed to offer screening and support tools for professionals working in Mobile Crisis Response settings.
Effective August 1, 2025, this training will be required for all Mobile Crisis Response program approvals. This training is mandatory for all Mobile Crisis response providers to be completed no later than 6/30/26.
This instructor-led course will provide participants with foundational knowledge of human trafficking and the systemic factors that facilitate exploitation in our communities. Specifically, this course will focus on identifying signs and risk factors for sex trafficking amongst the adolescent and transitional-aged youth populations. This course will identify appropriate screening tools and support strategies to utilize when providing services in Mobile Crisis Response settings. Participants will practice identifying and linking individuals to multiple levels of support during interactive practice with crisis safety planning.
The first offering of this course will be July 17, 2025. The course is open for registration in the Medicaid Technical Assistance Center (MTAC) Learning Center. Create or sign into your MTAC account at Adobe Learning Manager to access all available training courses. For training questions, please contact PATH-BH@illinois.edu.
